It is recommended that your elevator, platform lift, chair lift or patient lift have an annual preventative maintenance (PM) and safety check. Like your car, you want to make sure your stair lift or wheelchair lift is running when you need it. In addition, many elevators and handicap lifts come with safety sensors and other safety mechanisms which prevent injury when using the equipment. This is another key reason to have the equipment serviced annually. The cost of these annual PM’s depends on the type of lift and whether it is residential or commercial.
